Miniatures are ideal for the collector who has restricted space in which to show his collection. In a way, miniatures* take up no space at all, for they become a part of your decor and occupy space that would ordinarily be taken by larger decorative pieces.
A miniature is a model of just about anything, built on a small scale. Except for its size, it duplicates in complete and accurate detail the original object that it represents. It is made of the same material as its big brother; it is similarly decorated, and it is finished in the same colors. When you look carefully at a miniature chest of drawers, it is just like looking at the original through a reducing glass.
There is practically no limit to the objects that are available in miniatures: furniture, china, books, automobiles, glassware, ceramics, wood carvings, carved ivory, and many more.
Miniatures can be picked up anywhere and can cost about as little or as much as you want to pay. Dolls' furniture, for example, is relatively cheap, but an exquisitely wrought table or chair may cost more than you are prepared to spend on your collection in the next two or three years.
