There is still another source of photographs; it is the biggest and it is endless. These photos are not originals and they are not glossies, but they are the very stuff of life. The daily newspapers and the weekly news magazines offer dramatic scenes of great news events that are tomorrow's history: scenes of triumph and tragedy, of beauty and humor, of pathos and action; studies of children, of great men and villains; scenes of the wilderness; portraits of strange lands and candid shots of city streets; exquisite reproductions of great art works; and thought-provoking studies of men in all levels of society, all aspects of human hope, effort, failure and success.
If your photographs are the standard glossies, the best way to keep them is in an album made for the purpose, or in large scrap-books. An alphabetical index system similar to the one suggested for the clippings collection will be useful and will add to your pleasure. Begin your index when you start your collection, though; if you wait, indexing can become quite a task.
