
Iris. Put foliage in glycerin or let dry naturally. Store seed pods in box.
Larkspur (Delphinium). Place blue, purple, lavender, and white perennial type lengthwise in borax. Gather annuals as they begin to bud and before maturity. Hang upside down. Do not strip stalks of foliage as this stays* green after drying. Or let flowers reach maturity and then dry in borax.
Lemon-Verbena (Lippia citriodora). Fragrance of foliage retained when dried. Upside-down method.
Leopards-Bane (Doronicum caucasicum, Variety mag-nificum). Yellow daisies. Borax method.
Lilac. All varieties and colors. Place lengthwise in borax and cover. Dries perfectly, holding fragrance, shape, and color. After a time the white may turn a soft cream color, but at night in lamplight it looks white.
Loosestrife (Lysimachia punctata and terrestris). Flowers yellow and white. Borax method.
Lupine. Blue, purple, pink, rose, red, yellow, orange, and white. Store pods in box or stand in jar. Place flowers lengthwise in borax.
Marigold. Yellow, orange. Large double variety shrinks least. Upside-down method. Dry singles like Naughty Marietta in borax.
Meadow-Rue (Thalictrum aquilegifolium). Rose, lavender, or yellow racemes. Upside-down method.
Mexican Screw Beans (Prosopis pubescens). Long oval seed pods. Cream-colored. Used as they are.
Morning-Glory. Variety Scarlett O'Hara has wine-red flowers. Seed pods, when dry, resemble a small flower. Reddish brown and tan. Upside-down method.
