
Plantain (Plantago major). Common and beautiful. Leaves grow in clusters with long, slick sepals. These can be easily dried.
Velvet-Grass (Notholcus lanatus). Meadow or woolly soft grass.
Wild Jobs-Tears (Onosmodium virginianum). May to July. Stems rather slender. Branched in graceful curves. Yellow-white cylindrical flowers.
Witch-Grass (Panicum capillare). Field-Balm or Tumble-Weed. Long spikelets. July to September.
