Energy Savings • Use fans as little as possible in winter. Each time you turn on a kitchen or bathroom exhaust fan in winter, warm air goes out and cold air is drawn in to replace it. Take a minute to make sure the filter in your kitchen fan is clean. This will move out the odours and smoke more quickly, so you can shut it off sooner.

• Don't let cold air sneak in. Be sure the flap on the outside vent closes tightly. If you don't use the fan at all, seal it up for the winter.
