Hobbies We talk of this as "The Space Age." Men are whirling through space far beyond the earth's atmosphere. They are contemplating trips to the moon and to some of the planets. All of us are excited and vastly interested in these fabulous developments, and we want to know more about the space around us. Astronomy can supply some of the answers.

How do you study astronomy? Your first step should be a visit to a planetarium, where you'll see representations of the planetary system and the heavens on a ceiling dome. This is done through the use of many stereopticons in motion. If you live in the vicinity of Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York, there is a planetarium near you.

After you have had this awe-inspiring introduction to astronomy, you are ready to go to the library and begin your study of the subject. After spending several weeks with books and maps, you will be ready for a return trip to the planetarium. Your second visit should prove more amazing and exciting than the first, for this time you will have a better idea of what you are looking at.

As you continue your reading, you will become more and more impatient to learn all there is to know about the subject. You will walk, or stand, with your eyes to the sky whenever you are outside on a clear night.
