Hyproponics Prevention is always better than cure. Experience over many years shows that failures in hydroponics occur most frequently because the growing instructions have not been followed. So please bear in mind that you arc operating a scientific and controlled method of plant culture. Simple indeed it is, and perhaps because of this you may be tempted to occasionally forget the few straightforward rules. For plants in household and amateur hydroponic gardens, the chief points never to be forgotten are:

(a) Always see that the aggregate in the containers is as moist as a damp sponge that has been wrung out lightly. Do not over-irrigate the growing medium or let it get too dry, and open the drainage holes periodically to give aeration.

(b) Give the particular plants you are growing the best environment and conditions that you can, so that their needs for light, ventilation, warmth, and other physical requirements are met as far as may be practicable.

(c) Follow the mixing up instructions for the nutrient formula you choose and for the preparation of the solution of plant food most carefully. Be sure to use the right quantities of the fertiliser mixture to the stated amounts of water. Don't guess at these and remember to apply the solution regularly, as the season demands, according to the crops1 needs, to keep the aggregate moist and the plants vigorous and healthy. There is nothing complicated about this and a few days' experience will show you just how much solution will bring the growing medium to a nice degree of moisture and maintain it there at different times.
