Shallow scratches. Clean with sandpaper. Brush on polyester resin available from boat dealers.
Deep scratches, gouges. Sand thoroughly. Mix &" clippings of fiberglass mat with polyester resin to form a putty. Trowel into scratches, allow to dry and then sand smooth.
Small breaks. Open the hole slightly with a file. Then with a disc sander, grind down the inside surface of the hull around the hole. The sanded area should extend about 3" on all sides of the break and should be deeper at the center (i.e., more or less saucer-shaped). Out of fiberglass mat available from a boat dealer, cut a patch to fill the sanded area. Lay this on a sheet of cellophane and spread polyester resin evenly over the patch. Cover with another piece of cellophane, and with your fingers or a stick of wood squeeze the resin into the fiberglass until it is thoroughly saturated. Paint the sanded area inside the hull with resin. Then remove top sheet of cellophane from the patch, press patch over hole and smooth it on hull. Let the resin set, then remove cellophane. Sand the patch and then apply additional layers of fiberglass mat in the same way until the patch is the thickness of the hull. Then sand and finish.
