Household Repairs Doesn't heat. Check whether fuse on house circuit has blown. Plug a light into outlet used for broiler to see whether outlet is defective. Examine cord for a break and replace if necessary. Check whether heating element is broken. If it is, buy a replacement and install in same way. If these measures fail, take broiler to a service shop.
