Household Repairs Small holes, cracks. Heat metal and apply solder (see Basic Methods: How to Solder Metal). Work on reverse side of metal if possible. If not, visible solder can later be touched up with bronze paint.

Bronze broken. Have it welded for best results. Or apply epoxy glue to the broken edges and press together.

Bronze separated from other materials. See household decorative accessories.

Lacquer worn from metal. Remove remaining lacquer with lacquer thinner. Clean metal with a good brass polish. Wash and dry. Spray on several coats of new lacquer.

Tarnished. Clean with brass polish and rinse in hot soapsuds.
