Household Repairs Drawers move stiffly. Remove drawer. Clean runners and oil lightly. Oil wheels. If drawer is still sluggish, check whether cabinet is resting on a flat surface. Shim up corners with wood shingles if it is not.

Wood front of drawer split. Remove drawer and drawer handle but don't bother to take front off drawer. Coat split edges with Weld-wood plastic resin glue. Set drawer front down on wax paper over plywood and force sections together. See furniture—table (joined boards in top separated). As further reinforcement, screw small steel mending plates across split on inside of drawer.
