Household Repairs Paint on metal cabinets chipped. See painted surface.

Doors bind. See door, cabinet.

Doors bang when closed. Metal cabinets are equipped with small rubber bumpers. If these are flattened or broken, try to find replacements. Or out of a tire tube, cut small round patches and glue to frame of cabinet with Pliobond cement.

On wood cabinets glue rubber patches to frame as above. It may then be necessary to readjust catches so they will close and hold properly.

Spring catches jammed. Remove from cabinet and soak in paint-remover; then clean and reinstall. If old catches are broken, replace them entirely with new magnetic catches.

Open space between top of cabinets and ceiling or between sides and walls. If crack remains open at all times of year, fill it with spackle; sand and paint. If crack opens and closes, tack strips of quarter round to the ceiling.
