Household Repairs Holes worn in fabric. Apply a press-on patch on the inside of the pocket. Or machine stitch across the pocket just above the hole.

A better repair is made by ripping out the old pocket and replacing it with a new one purchased at a notions counter.

Garment fabric torn at corner of patch pocket. Rip the pocket to below the tear. Reverse garment and, with running stitches, sew a strip of tape along the length of the tear. Then darn across the tear on the right side of the garment. Stitch the pocket corner down.
