Household Repairs Cord on traverse rod loose, dan-gling. If cord is looped through a spring pulley on the wall or floor, close curtains, pull out knot in one end of the center carrier until cord is taut. Then reknot. If cord is in two pieces (not looped through a pulley), attach weights to the pulling ends.

Curtains on traverse rods do not close at center of window. Open curtains wide. On the back of one of the center carriers you will find a hook around which the cord is looped. Loosen cord. Push carrier as far to the side of the window as possible. Tighten cord by pulling on the end, then loop it around the hook again.
