Household Repairs Note. Call a serviceman if machine doesn't work properly, but before doing so check and correct points noted below.

Doesn't work. Check: Has fuse blown? Is anything interfering with tight closing of door or lid?

Hums but doesn't work. Check: Is anything jamming impeller? Is strainer in outlet clogged?

Doesn't fill with water. Your water pressure may have dropped too low. If this condition doesn't quickly correct itself, call a serviceman. You may then have to call in a plumber.

Soap dispenser doesn't open. Clean thoroughly. Make sure that catch which holds dispenser closed has not been bent.

Dishes don't wash clean. Check: Have you changed detergents? Try it. Is water hot enough? Maybe you should move up thermostat setting on water heater.

Dishes don't dry thoroughly, or are water spotted. Try changing detergent.

Stains, film on dishes and sides of dishwasher tub. Try changing detergents. If this doesn't correct situation, there's something wrong with your water. Call in a plumber. You may need a water softener or water conditioner of some kind.
