Household Repairs Concrete curb broken. Break out loose concrete and brush surfaces clean. Coat two boards lightly with clean car grease and stake on either side of the curb so that the top edges are even with the curb top. Greased surfaces should face inward. Wet concrete between boards with water and let it stand for several hours. Then remove excess water and brush on a soupy grout of cement. Before this dries, trowel in a stiff mix of 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, and 2 parts pea gravel (or 1 part cement and 3 parts sand if hole is small). Compact thoroughly and strike off level with top of boards.
