Household Repairs Defective. Shut off current at fuse box. Unscrew outlet plate, then take out screws that hold outlet and remove it from box. Pull out gently to avoid breaking the wires. Loosen wires from outlet and install a new one. Always attach black wire to gold screw; white wire to silver screw. Push outlet into box carefully and make sure that bare wires and terminal screws do not touch sides of box.
