Household Repairs Dents. Hold a block of wood against concave side and hammer out with a rubber mallet. Use light blows, especially if exterior of metal is porcelain-enameled.

Joints open in fireplace or flue pipe. Brush off soot and wash with detergent. Dry and clean surface with steel wool. Then spread on plastic steel.
