Household Repairs Line guide off or loose. Position guide on rod and wrap cellophane tape around one leg to hold it. Use silk or nylon thread to bind legs permanently in place. Start winding about 1/16" ahead of the legs and continue winding up to point where they bend to form the loop. Turns of thread should touch. When both of the guide legs have been bound down, coat thread thoroughly with varnish.

Bamboo rod broken. See bamboo. But note that it is best to have an expert repair an expensive fly rod.

Set (bend) in bamboo rod. Bend straight by hand. Be careful. But remember that once a rod develops a set, it can never be permanently straightened.
