Household Repairs Legs wobbly. Try to break joints and reglue, or try to force new glue into joints. If this is impossible, cut a triangle out of a piece of 1" thick wood. Notch 90° corner to fit around the leg. Place block tight against inside surfaces of leg and screw it to the frame.

Wood damaged. See See wood. Also see veneer.

Top or leaf warped. Remove top from frame and lay it concave side down on several layers of damp rags. Over the top hang one or two heat lamps. Keep lamps lighted and rags wet until wood straightens. If warp returns, repeat process. Once you're sure wood is stable, varnish the unfinished underside.

If warp is irregular, so that top is actually twisted, follow above procedure and weight down the highest parts with heavy weights.

Note. This repair is likely to damage the finish on the wood, but you have no choice.

Joined boards in top separated. Remove top from base. Scrape the old glue from edges of boards. Apply Weldwood plastic resin glue and press boards together. To assure that joints are tight, nail a straight board to the floor or to a sheet of plywood. Cover floor with wax paper. Push one end of table top against the board and, when joints are tight, nail a board along the opposite end of table.
