Hardboard
Paint finish marred. See painted surface.Scratches. Rub a hammer head over the scratch. Press down hard. Then rub with a wax stick of the proper color.
Stains. See wood.
Pieces of hardboard separated. Bolt or rivet together, or coat surfaces with Weldwood plastic resin glue and clamp pieces together overnight.
Hardboard separated from another material. If the other material holds nails and screws, hardboard can be rejoined to it with either of these. Otherwise use bolts or rivets or appropriate glue (see household decorative accessories and use same glues as specified for wood).
