Radiator doesn't heat properly. Hold a pan under vent valve; open valve with valve key to let out accumulated air; close valve when water begins to run out. If difficulty continues to arise, replace manually operated valve with an automatic one.
Note. If radiator is painted with metallic paint, heat output is reduced. Repaint with interior paint. (The metallic paint need not be removed first.)
Leaks at inlet valve stem. Tighten nut at top of valve. If leak doesn't stop, loosen nut completely and wrap graphite wicking around stem a couple of times. Bring nut down over this and tighten.
