Household Repairs Head of bamboo rake wobbles on handle. Tighten the nuts on the U-bolt holding the tines to the handle. If the U-bolt still wobbles, wrap the handle at this point with friction tape and tighten the bolt over this.

Tines in steel rake broken. There's nothing you can do to this kind of leaf rake except keep the head tightly bolted to the handle.

Use the rake until a number of tines are broken and then throw it away.
