Household Repairs Pilot light out. From the pilot follow the little gas inlet tube back to the manifold, where you will find an adjusting screw. Hold a lighted match at the pilot and turn the screw on the manifold counterclockwise until the gas ignites. Then turn the screw clockwise till the flame is three-quarters of the height of the flash tube leading to the burner.

Top burners light but oven doesn't. This happens on only a few modern ranges. Check whether electric fuse on house circuit into which range is connected has blown. If it hasn't, call a serviceman.

Lights don't light. Check whether range is plugged into electric outlet. Check whether fuse on house circuit has blown.

Burners encrusted with spillages. Lift out burner and soak in solution of household ammonia. If necessary, boil in a weak solution of washing soda. Then dry thoroughly.

Oven food too light or too dark. See range, electric.

Oven walls encrusted with spillages. See range, electric.

Other problems. Call a serviceman.
