Household Repairs Tip broken, rounded. Hold screwdriver in a vise and file across the tip with a metal file. Hold file flat and file only on forward stroke. If repaired tip is too blunt, taper sides at the same gradual angle of original taper.

Shank loose in handle. Remove shank and squeeze a little plastic steel into handle hole. Then insert shank as far as possible. Allow plastic steel to set before using screwdriver.
