Household Repairs Note. Follow manufacturer's directions for mamtaining and adjusting the pool pumping system. Have pool contractor go over system every spring and call him if you have trouble—but before doing this, check and correct the following points.

Pump not working. Check whether fuse has blown.

Pump works but doesn't pump water. Stop motor and check whether it has lost its prime. If so, fill strainer with water, put on lid, and restart motor.

Pump labors, does not deliver enough water. Take out strainer, empty, and rinse. Replace in pump, fill with water, tighten lid, and start motor.

Filters clogged. Sand filters are cleaned by backwashing; earth filters by hand. Follow maker's directions.
