Household Repairs Collapses when pinched, slow to suck up water. Coat joint between nozzle and bulb with plastic rubber. If bulb is thin and cracked in one spot, spread thin layer of plastic rubber over it. If there is an actual hole, cut a patch out of rubber, roughen back and the area around the hole with sandpaper, brush rubber cement on both surfaces. When dry, apply another coat of cement to patch and press down.
