Broken. If tile is loose (used as a hot mat, for example), coat broken edges with Duco cement. Let dry. Apply a second coat to one edge and press pieces together until cement sets. If tile is fixed (as in a wall, floor or table top), you may be able to conceal break with porcelain glaze. Otherwise, chip the tile out and replace it as below.
Loose or missing from wall, floor, table, etc. Remove tile. Chip out mortar joints. Clean mortar base if cement, or remove it entirely if an adhesive. Coat back of tile with Miracle Adhesive (Type M if tile is exposed to moisture) and press it into center of hole. (To hold a wall tile in a centered position, insert toothpicks around the edges.) Let the adhesive set for 24 hours or more. Then soak joints with water, remove excess from the bottoms of joints and fill joints with a commercial grout or a grout of white cement. Remove excess cement with a damp cloth.

Rust stains on tile. Rub with commercial rust-remover sold at hardware store. If this doesn't do the trick, wash with a solution of 1 part hydrochloric acid to 20 parts water and rinse immediately with clear water.
