Household Repairs Water stands in low spots. If walk is laid in sections, try raising the troublesome section witli a crowbar and filling underneath with gravel. If water collects in middle of walk, clean surface thoroughly and trowel on latex cement. If depression is more than 1/8" deep, apply cement in two or more coats. Note that patch will not match surrounding surface.

Crack between walk and house foundations. Scrape out crack and let dry (use a torch if necessary). Fill with asphalt roofing cement. If crack is very wide and roofing cement would be unsightly, fill crack to within 1" of top with roofing cement and strands of manila rope. When cement has hardened, fill crack the rest of the way with mortal made of 1 part Portland cement and 3 parts sand.
