Household Repairs Note. Call a serviceman if machine doesn't work properly, but before doing so check and correct points noted below.

Doesn't work. Check: Is it plugged in? Has fuse blown.? Has a garment been thrown out^f the basket? Some machines have a tendency to do this, but you can often remove the garment by disconnecting the machine, removing entire top and reaching down under basket.

Doesn't empty. Check if a garment has been thrown out of basket. See above.

Oversudses. Check: Did you use too much detergent or a new kind? Follow directions in instruction book or let suds settle and then pump out.

Water comes in cold. Probably because you've overdrawn supply elsewhere in house. But check whether inlet valves are turned on. Maybe you should move up water-heater thermostat setting. Maybe you need a larger water heater.

Clothes not clean. Check: Are you using enough detergent? Is water hot enough?

Agitator frozen on post. If you can't remove cap that holds it on, call a serviceman. Henceforth, remove cap every two weeks, lift out agitator, clean post, and apply vaseline to screw threads under cap.
