Note. It is not overly difficult to keep a water pump and pressure system which are installed in a pump house or basement operating properly if you have the manufacturer's instruction manual. But there are many repairs which call for an expert.
Doesnt operate. Check whether fuse has blown. Check whether pump can be turned by hand. Consult instruction book. If you can't get pump going, call a serviceman.

Pump operates but produces no water. Check whether water level in well has dropped too low. Strainer at bottom of well may be clogged. DiflBculty may also be in pump itself. Call a serviceman.
Pump noisy. Check oil in crank-case; be sure it is at proper level. Check whether water level in well has dropped too low. Be sure pump pulley is tight on shaft and that belt is tight.
Pump leaks around piston rod at stuffing box. Tighten nut just enough to stop drip. If leak persists, unscrew nut and carefully dig out old packing material with a wire. Replace with new packing supplied by pump maker.
