Household Repairs Jammed. Use Dritz zipper-repair kit available at the Five and Ten. With the tool in the kit or a screwdriver, pry open the narrow end of the jaws of the old zipper and remove it. Open new slider by holding the end of the bottom jaw and bending back the pull tab. Place open slider at the bottom of the zipper and pinch the jaws closed by bending the pull tab flat. You're in business.

Teeth of zipper missing. A few isolated missing teeth usually don't make much difference. But if several in a row are gone, rip the entire zipper from the garment and replace with a new one.
